I'm Brandon- a lifelong aviation enthusiast currently progressing through the phases of flight training to become a professional pilot. I earned my Private Pilot Certificate in 2021 and my Instrument Rating in 2022, all at the Colorado Air and Space Port (KCFO). I'm currently a full time software engineer working in education technology. Before that, I taught 1st grade and wrote the math curriculum for an elementary school.
I created this site to share my experiences with other new and prospective pilots in case any of those experiences might resonate with what you're going through. I think flight training can sometimes be a bit of a lonely journey, especially early on when you're mostly in this bubble flying with the same instructor or solo. During this phase, it's easy to assume the challenges you face are unique ("Why do all of my landings suck? Am I really the worst pilot ever?"). That can be discouraging or at least add to the rollercoaster of highs and lows that come with learning to fly. So I thought sharing some of my own challenges, mishaps, and modest suggestions might be helpful.
Just to be clear, I am not a flight instructor- just someone passionate about aviation and learning. Take whatever I say with a grain of salt and always defer to your instructor, POH, FAR/AIM, and the million other handbooks the FAA publishes.
